More care closer to home

More healthcare services are now available at the Marlborough Community Health Hub, with the near-completion of its expansion this month.

NMH Chief Executive Peter Bramley says that the expansion allows for better integration of services.

“Our community health hubs in Blenheim and Nelson typify the community-facing service model we want more of, and that our communities are asking for,” Peter says.

Celebrating the start of life-saving screening

After more than a year in the planning, Nelson Marlborough Health (NMH) has launched the National Bowel Screening Programme in the region.

Over the next two years approximately 30,000 people aged 60 – 74 will be invited to participate in the programme, with the first invitation letters sent on 14 August.

Services as usual

Surgical and outpatient services will continue as planned this week after the strike planned for Thursday 5 July was called off. However, contingency planning will continue for potential strike action on Thursday 12 July from 7am (ending 7am 13 July).
